Notesdc7800pS9/E6550/80hnd/1.0R/7 USBasic things to keep in mind when upgrading would be: - The case is a Small Form Factor case meaning that you can only use "Low Profile" PCI-E cards. A product may be "Low Profile" but not include a Low Profile replacement slot cover. Getting a Low Profile 'ready' PCI-E is recommended because it should include any alternate parts needed for a small form factor tower.
- There are 2 internal 3.5" HDD bays that can be used for RAID because there is no need for the external floppy bay most of the time.
- There is an internal ReadyBoost port available inside this machine. 1 1Gb module could greatly increase response if installed and configured.
- Comes with 1Gb 3-3-3 timing, PC5300 ram. Most ram you will find will probably be something like 5-5-5 timing, which is slower. If you mix RAM speeds, the slower timing set will be used. Most people would hardly notice if they were on 5-5-5 timing, it's not really that big of a deal.
- Supports Trusted Platform Module, TPM. This is for higher security, but should be left to the experts to implement and the end user should have some sort of crash course.
- Supports Virtualization Technology, VT. This is for running virtual computers and other operating systems within your system with improved resource overhead.
